Prague

We visited Prague, Czech Republic over a long weekend in November 2014.  It was our first trip outside of Germany.  For some reason, ever since I can remember hearing about Prague it was on my top ten places that I must visit before I die.  And you know it did not disappoint; it was amazing. The food was good, the sights breath taking and the people warm.

Although we originally planned to do the Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) on the first day before we checked into our hotel, driving there took longer then we had planned and we were only able to walk around the grounds and did not do a tour. We will have to go back to take a tour some time.  FYI:  Prague is only 2 hour away from our home so if you need a place to stay close to Prague and we have a spare bedroom for you to stay in.  Hint.  Hint.

One of the Towers at Prague Castle
Cathedral of St. Vitus

The Good King Wenceslas was the King here in Prague.

The John Lennon Wall
This wall is located at Velkopřevorské náměstí 100 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic.  In the 1980's it was covered with graffiti of John Lennon and Beatles song quotes targeted against the Communist Regime.  We just made it to see it with great street art because on 17 November 2014 the wall was painted white to remember the 25th year of the velvet revolution, which was the end of communism in Czech Republic and the building of a parliamentary republic.
Lots of Love (locks)
King Charles Bridge
Statue of John of Nepomuk: he was thrown into the river Vitava by King Wenceslas because his wife went to confession to him and John would not tell the king what her confession was.
Jewish Quarter Cemetery

Half a Duck and bread dumplings
So apparently the bread dumplings are a Czech thing, but they are not that good; they just tasted like bread with stale pieces of old bread in them. Bread and stale bread...tasty.
Refreshing Diet Coke (coke light)

I found a defender 90!!

Trdelnik: a round cake with almond and sugar on the outside.  It is good!

The high tech elevator to the top of the astronomical clock
I think that when I heard about the astronomical clock I always wanted to visit it.

The astronomical clock in the daytime. See a youtube video of it here.
.The Old Town Square with the Church of our Lady before Tyn.

We will definitely be back to Prague!
