Days Like This...

I know this is a bad picture. It was taken from my living room window, but it's days like today that make me grateful that I work from home. I wasn't even brave enough to get a decent picture of it!

Martin Luther Jr. Day

Last weekened we had a long weekend! We hung out with friends for most of the weekend and on Monday we took a trip to Palmyra to visit the church history sites. We started the day out by having our first go at making ebelskivers (they are fabulous with chocolate chips in the middle btw). Then we set out for Palmyra. I was excited because I had never been before. Although it was a pretty brisk day the drive down was beautiful and it was very cool to see the sites. Afterwards we finished off the night with a side trip to Rochester for some excellent BBQ at Dinasour BBQ. All in all...a pretty good weekend.

In front of the Smith home.
The Sacred Grove. I would love to see it in the summertime!

Looks to me like the dinasour is about to run over Jake's head.

Sample

In celebration of my arrival to Buffalo Jake took me to this little restaurant called Sample in this historic area of town. Everything on the menu is in bite-sized portions. We ordered a taste of everything on the menu and by the time the night was over I was stuffed! It was nice to spend a night out together before Jake became busy with school! Oh how I wish we could extend the honeymoon till forever...at least we are making continuous efforts to continue to eat good food!

Isn't the ambiantic lighting nice?
This was a Mediterranean
plate with humus, garbanzo beans, some olive stuff and pita bread. It was all right.
This one was a sampling of various soups. We have a clam chowder, chicken noodle, french onion and butternut squash (my fav).
Umm...dish had some beef stuff, and a chicken tender sandwich.

The Honeymoon!

We went to San Francisco for the honeymoon. It was nice to get away from the madness and go someplace nice and warm. We explored the city, saw Wicked, went to the Golden Gate Park, went to the warf, visited the MOMA and ATE REALLY GOOD FOOD the whole time!

On the plane and so excited!
At the warf

FOOD!
Jake really liked this piece at the MOMA

Powder Mountain

After we got back to Utah from the honeymoon we spent a night at Powder Mountain at a little lodge. We spent the next day boarding with Tom. It was such a good time and quite possibly our only snowboarding trip this winter.

Rockin our new cheat chopsticks while getting some super great sushi
This is a pic of the little lodge we stayed at at Powder Mountain

Adventure 1-The Wedding!

Makena chasing Liam

Looking good!

Our wedding day finally came...and went. It was the perfect day and I loved every minute of it other than posing for pictures at the temple in the snow! Here are a few pictures Jake was able to get of the wedding day. We are still waiting for our pictures from our photographer. I can't wait to see them. I am sure that she did an amazing job. Thank you to all of our friends and family for your loving support!

The beginning

In an attempt to keep our friends and families updated now Jake and I both reside in Buffalo, NY (and to keep myself from having to do any real work at the moment) I am beginning our blog together!
